Dr. Nicola Gray is a board certified adult psychiatrist who has a subspecialty in Women’s Mental Health. She provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, pharmacotherapy, and coordinates and communicates with many psychotherapists in the area, each of whom draw from a wide range of therapeutic disciplines. She uses a biopsychosocial approach to develop an individualized treatment plan for each patient.

Dr. Gray has experience treating a wide range of psychiatric disorders including depression, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, schizophrenia and especially pharmacotherapy during pregnancy and the postpartum period. She also provides preconception counseling which involves discussing the risks and benefits, along with possible alternatives, of using psychotropic medications during and after pregnancy. The frequency of visits and the length of treatment varies greatly depending on the nature and the severity of the issues being addressed and the individual’s response to medications.

Dr. Gray tailors her treatment to each patient’s individual needs. She has been trained in psychodynamic, insight-oriented, cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral and supportive psychotherapies, which provides her with the ability to work well with many patients and their therapists. She is also certified to prescribe Suboxone (buprenorphine/naloxone), Bunavail, Zubsolv and Vivitrol to treat opioid addiction and also to prescribe medical marijuana.
